In this speech, Steven Hayes, founder of the ACT model, will describe the latest scientific advances and the most advanced research that have led to the improvement of Acceptance Commitment Therapy.
Evidence-based interventions are increasingly shifting to process-based therapeutic treatments, of which ACT is a prime example.
The focus of the research and of the interventions consistent with its results, in fact show that the direction to follow is the one that focuses on the processes of change, empirically defined, and which are dynamic, progressive, multilevel and linked to the context.
Through the presentation of the results of research and meta-analysis, prof. Hayes will show how one of the central constructs of the ACT model, that of psychological flexibility, is extremely effective in understanding and supporting change towards psychological and psycho-physical well-being.
