Prof.Dr.Vedat Şar is a clinician, teacher, and researcher who has been focused on diagnosis and treatment of trauma related & dissociative disorders in general psychiatric settings. Currently being a Professor and Chair of the Department of Psychiatry, Koc University School of Medicine, he has served as President of the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD) and European Society for Traumatic Stress Studies (ESTSS). Her has also served to the DSM-5 Workgroup as an international advisor. He has been honored by numerous awards including the Lifetime Achievement Award by ISSTD.
